Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve

LETS GO TO THE MOON!
Step onto "another planet" and discover this adventure of a lifetime in Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve located just 89 miles from Twin Falls.

Begin your adventure in the Monument with a stop at the Visitor Center where you will learn how our Apollo astronauts used this rugged terrain to prepare for their 1969 moon landing.

Next, take a short walk through the monoliths of the North Crater Flow, one of the Monument's youngest lava flow areas.  Stroll through Devils Orchard for an upfront view of the strange features of this volcanic "island" and learn about our impact on this delicate landscape and the preservation efforts underway to save it. 

​Hike up Inferno Cone for a bird's eye view of the fissures of the Great Rift and see Big Cinder Butte, one of the world's largest known basaltic cinder cones.  Take a break for lunch at the Cave Area just before you venture into an ancient lava tube at Indian Tunnel.  

Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve abounds with flora and fauna appearing in different stages throughout the year, so be on the lookout for some of the unique plants and animals that call this beautiful place home!

Shoshone Falls & City Tour

TAKE A TOUR!
Do you go crazy over Natural Wonders? Do you like American history and pioneer culture? Then this is the perfect Big Green Adventure for you! Come along on this scenic tour to the "Niagara of the West", Shoshone Falls. Find yourself surrounded in rich local and geologic history as your interpretive guide takes you back in time more than 14,000 years.

​Learn about the hydroelectric power produced by the Shoshone Falls Power Plant. Experience the I.B Perrine Memorial Bridge while taking in the grandeur of the Snake River Canyon. Enjoy a brief stop at the Twin Falls Visitor Center just before you tour the historic original Old Town and Warehouse District of Twin Falls.

Dierkes Lake & Shoshone Falls

TAKE A HIKE!
Join us for a 1.7 mile hike around Dierkes Lake at Shoshone Falls. Your interpretive guide will tour you to "The Hidden Lakes" where you will learn about the geology of the formation of this unique hidden treasure in Twin Falls, known mostly by the locals.

​As you continue on the loop you will climb a steep set of man-made staircases arriving atop the Snake River Canyon with views only available to those who dare to trek with us! Along the way, you will observe Idaho wildlife in its natural habitat, discover the beauty of our flora and learn the history of the unique geology of this area with a must-see stop at the Shoshone Falls.


​This Big Green Adventure requires proper hiking footwear, sunscreen and a hat and tour guests must be able to complete a moderately rugged trail. Your guide will provide water. Please bring any additional hydration and snacks you feel you may need for this 3 1/2 hour excursion.

Vistas And Vino 

Scenic Adventure & Wine Tasting Tour!
Come along on this unique tour to Idaho's Famous Wine Country, part of the new frontier of wine-growing areas. This scenic adventure tour begins with a trip to Malad Gorge State Park for stunning views of "Devil's Washbowl," a cascade of waterfalls created by volcanic activity ending with a spectacular 60 foot cataract all set inside a 250 feet deep gorge 2 1/2 miles long. 

Next, relax and enjoy a 25 minute ride along the 1000 Springs Scenic Byway where you will see breathtaking waterfalls and gaze upon the majestic vistas of Hagerman Valley, home of The Hagerman National Fish Hatchery.  Meander through the beautiful countryside and cross the mighty Snake River as you enjoy views of peaceful lakes and charming streams.

The Grand Finale of your day will bring you to Holesinsky Vineyard & Winery, one of Southern Idaho's premier family-owned and Certified Organic Wineries, known for their French wine-making techniques and versatile flavors.  There you will enjoy 12 samples of their own creations while enjoying a delicious charcuterie board in between sips.

​Shoshone Ice Caves and Bear Claw Trading Post 

FIRE & ICE!
Explore Shoshone Ice Caves, a National Historic Site and the largest Lava Ice Cave known. Your interpretive guide will take you into this geologic natural wonder on a fun, unique tour where you will learn how this "living glacier" was formed.  Wander through the village and visit the museum and gift shop or search for the perfect geode at the geode breaking station. 

Next you will visit the world famous Bear Claw Trading Post where you will find authentic Native American art and jewelry, as well as unique imports from five continents. 

​This Big Green Adventure recommends comfortable footwear, sunscreen, hat and light jacket (ice cave is a bit chilly!)  Tour guests must be able to descend and ascend 80 steep stairs. Your guide will provide water. Please bring any additional hydration and snacks you feel you may need for this 4 hour excursion.

We strive to provide the best service possible to each guest on every tour.  We offer hotel pick up and drop off with every tour with our professional, friendly and knowledgeable interpretive guides.  For the comfort of everyone during our tour we ask that you do not smoke while on tour and we appreciate proper hygiene.  Our vehicle is equipped with cell phone charger plugs for your use, however, out of consideration for your guide and tour guests, we ask that you reserve your cell phone conversations to outside of the vehicle.   
 
While we are in our parks on tour, Big Green Adventure Tours LLC serves as a steward of the environment: What we pack in, we pack out!

YOUR SAFETY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!  PLEASE WEAR PROPER FOOTWEAR AND BRING EXTRA HYDRATION IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED IT.  HATS AND SUNSCREEN ARE ALWAYS RECOMMENDED.  KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS ON EACH TOUR AND PLEASE INFORM YOUR TOUR GUIDE OF ANY MEDICAL ISSUES HE/SHE MAY NEED TO KNOW.
